INTRODUCTION FROM THE BOARD

Across the Dornan Group (to be referred to as the Group) we are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking. The Group will continue its efforts to ensure all people are treated with dignity and respect when we are competing for and running projects and activities wherever we work.

 

ANTI-SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

THE COMPANY’S BUSINESS AND STRUCTURE

With our parent company, Dornan Engineering (DEL) based in Cork, Ireland, we are a provider of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation services in the construction sector.  With entities in Switzerland and Germany and branches in Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Finland and the Netherlands, DEL is primarily responsible for projects based in Ireland and Europe.

 

Also making up the Group is Dornan Engineering Services Ltd., (DESL), an entity of DEL, with an office base in London, UK and primarily responsible for projects across the UK.

 

In addition, another company within the Group – Kantor Energy Limited – is responsible for the design and development of energy system solutions for projects in the UK.

 

The Group has over 1000 employees and operates in Western Europe including the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Denmark. The Group has a global annual turnover of €588,713,663.

 

OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Our supply chains include sub-contractors, suppliers and agency staff in the UK and Europe who assist in the completion of the projects in each country we operate in.

 

OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business and in so far as is possible we require our suppliers hold similar ethos. Our slavery and human trafficking policy statement reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

 

In addition to this we operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include our Equal Opportunities Policy, Recruitment Policy, Code of Conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

 

 

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES FOR SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The Group maintains a preferred subcontractor/supplier list.  To ensure all those in our supply chain and subcontractors comply with our values we conduct due diligence on all subcontractors and suppliers before allowing them to become a preferred supplier.

 

Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy forms part of our contract with all subcontractors/suppliers and they are required to confirm that no part of their business operations contradicts this policy.

 

We are committed as a Group to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking and want to work with suppliers who share our values.

 

TRAINING

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our

supply chains and our business we provide training to our staff.

 

This includes:

  • raising awareness about modern slavery at our site inductions
  • modern slavery posters displayed on our sites
  • modern slavery toolbox talks during the year
  • modern slavery e-learning course available on our LMS system
  • a dedicated modern slavery page on our intranet

We also require our business partners to provide training to their staff and suppliers and providers.

 

OUR EFFECTIVENESS IN COMBATING SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We use the following key performance indicators to measure how effective we have been to raise awareness and ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  • staff training records (staff trained / informed)
  • Achillies Ethical Employment Certified 2023
  • written confirmations from our suppliers to ensure they adhere to the legislation
  • audits of our supply chains

 

We engage with our clients on best practice, highlighting what we currently have in place and looking at improvements we can make.

 

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st December 2023.
